Family Trip 2011: Langkawi Island

 December 18, 2011

Hi lovelies,

Actually nie cerite agak basi tapi rasa cam worth sharing. Especially for those yang interested nak visit Langkawi. Hmm, ade tak yang seumur hidup tak pernah jejak Langkawi? Ish..ish.. kalau ade tue maknenye sekapal ngan saye. Hehehe. Sadis je kan bunyinye.. Orang lain dah dua tiga kali pusing Langkawi tuh. Ni dh 26 taun hidup baru 1st time nak jejak kaki. Tapi xperlaa, at last sampai jugak! Syukur Alhamdulilliah. Ni pun banyak lagi tempat belum pegi. Usahkan Sabah ngan Sarawak, yang kat Semenanjung pun belum habis tawaf! :p

Anyway nie antara trip yang i anticipated giler. Dekat setahun tunggu after I bought the flight tix. Finally, berjaya jugaklaa menjejakkan kaki ke pulau Permata Kedah. But then sadis sketlaa sebab tak berjaya gather all of my family members since my along and angah x dapat join last minute because of work commitment. Well, ibunya tak dapat join, tapi bapak dan anak2nye kami angkut aje :p Jadinye tinggal just 10 of us. We ols dah booked homestay beforehand. Sampai kat airport we rent a van for 4 days + chartered a boat for 1 day island hopping @ RM600 je! Kire murahlaa tue kan? Selamat tak pegi time LIMA, kalau tak sure mencanak2 price naik.

Anyway, here’s some of the place I think worth visiting/activity worth trying:

Island Hopping
This is the most exciting and fun activity! We went to three islands, Pulau Dayang Bunting – Pulau Singa Besar – Pulau Beras Basah. Pulau Dayang Bunting was very fascinating. You can see the shape of the pregnant maiden clearly from the back side of the island. Lagi satu yang menariknya, there’s a freshwater lake in the middle of the island. Terasa kejung juge kaki especially masa climbing up the stairs to reach the lake. Masa sampai sana tuh tengah panas terik, so memang takdelaa nak bermandi manda. Just celup2 kaki ala2 buat fish spa :p After that we all singgah kat sangkar ikan tengah2 laut. Sempatlaa tengok2 dan bagi makan ikan yang besau2. Then, we went to Pulau Singa Besar to feed the eagles. Seronok bila dapat tengok eagles tue makan dari jarak dekat . Tapi kat sini tak lama pun. Dalam 5 minit je kot. Then stop by Pulau Beras Basah. We had our brunch there. Bawak bekal siap2 before gerak from jetty pagi tuh. Pulau nie memang very clean and beautiful. Terasa macam kat private island pulak. Sebabnye xde orang sangat pun. Memang puas hati mandi kat situ. Ombak pun tak kuat. Cuma satu jelaa downside pulau nie. There’s no proper facility to shower or change your clothes. Kena pandai2laa berdikari ye. Ala2 survivors gitu :)

Oriental Village (Panorama Langkawi/Cable Car)
This part is very challenging especially for those who are acrophobic (just like me). It was the steepest ride for me. At one part, the cable car was climbing 42 degree vertically! But then, bila lagi nak cabar diri sendiri kan? So I gave a try and I did it! :) The view was spectacular (especially when you’re at the Skybridge). Even though bride tue shaky every time kena tiup angin, pakse jugak diri nie jalan sampai the end of the bridge. Rasa takut and cuak nie tak payahlaa cakap.. Tuhan aje yang tahu. But still, when you looked at the beautiful view around, you'll know it’s worth the journey up to the hill. Ape pun, make sure bring lots of water ye sebab jauh jugak nak berjalan ke Skybridge from Middle station. For more info, you can click HERE

Under Water World
For me biase je, just like Aquaria KLCC. Cumenye yang menarik kat sini sebab ade penguins! There are so adorable. Rasa nak je cilok bawak balik rumah. Lagi satu my fav dier punye coral tanks. Very beautiful! I thought kat sini adelaa underground tunnel yang enable us to look into the sea. Tapi takdelaa pulak :(

Cenang Beach
The most happening beach in Langkawi. Kat sini macam2 water sports ade. Nak jet skiing ke, parasailing ke, macam2 ade. Facilities tuk mandi ke tukar baju ke pun ade. So senang sketlaa kalau nak bermandi-manda. Kat sini chalets pun banyak. Kalau nak merasa menginap tepi pantai bolehlaa try. Harga pun affordable. Cume kat sini foods a little bit pricey.

 sunset at Cenang
souvenir wajib! mcm nak giler borong coklat..nie br half :p

Kuah Town
This is where most people shop for chocolates and duty free items like perfume and cigar. Great bargain! Memang rambang mata membeli especially kalau stok2 yang giler pinggan mangkuk or perfumes. Memang rasa cam nak angkut satu kedai bawak balik! Same thing happened to my mum. Selamat kitaorang x beli banyak luggage so terpaksalaa dia berpada2 nak bershopping :p If nak cari souvenirs like tshirt and fridge magnet pun bleh dapat kat sini. Another place yang best tuk beli souvenirs is at Beras Terbakar.

Other that these place ade jugak tempat lain yang we ols visit like Makam Mahsuri and Dataran Lang. Tapi rasanya cukuplaa cerita takat nie je. Kang pening uols nak bace panjang2 (tue pun kalau ade yang sudi nak bace :p) Okaylaa, ade masa kita cerita lagi ye :)

p/s: lame dh post nie dok simpan as 'draft' rupenye.. asik lupe nak publish.. hari ni br ade kesempatan. hehehe :D

Till then.

Holiday Destination: Chengdu, China

 July 10, 2011

Hi there,

Hari ni nak share about one of the destinations yang ade in my wishlist ---> Chengdu, China! Have you heard of it? Maybe Chengdu tak sepopular Hong Kong xpun Tokyo or Seoul. Tapi rasanye menarik jugak tempat ni. For those yang tengah mencari tempat nak bercuti tak pun honeymoon ke.. maybe bleh include Chengdu in your list too. So, ape yang menarik sangat ye kat sini? Meh saye citer sket...

Sebab utama saye teringin nak ke sini definitely bcoz of the landscape/scenery! Since saye ni jenis yang kalau berjalan suke cuci mate and snap gambar, kirenye jadi kewajipanlaa tuk visit tempat yang lawa2 and memukau pandangan mata. Hehehe. Caye tak kalau saye kate Chengdu nie antara lokasi tourism yang cantik di dunia? Tak caye? Haa.. jom layan gambar2 kat bawah nie.

Huanglong Valley/Golden Dragon Valley

Jiuzhaigau Valley

Eventho dua2 tempat kat atas nie bukanlah exactly kat tengah2 Chengdu, but still kalau uols dah kat Chengdu, boleh je reach these places by road. Selain daripada tempat2 nie banyak lagi tempat2 menarik macam Dujiangyang Irrigation System, Mount Qingcheng, Wangjiang Tower Park & San Sheng Flower Town. Then banyak jugak famous temple kat sane.

And lastly... tak lengkaplah kalau pegi mana2 trip tapi xleh nak bershopping. Tak gitu? hehehe... Antara tempat yang famous tuk shopping adalah kat Jinli Street & Chunxi Road. What to expect? Barang2 antik, handicrafts, Shu brocade and embroidery, silk, jewelry, jade dan macam2 lagilah! :)

Okaylaa, tue je yang termampu nak share. Sebabnye diri sendiri pon belum penah gi sane. hehehe. Kalau nak info lanjut maybe uols bleh godek2 kat following websites:

Jakarta & Bandung Trip - Part 1

 October 15, 2010

Hi there, as i promised.. here's the update of my Indonesia Trip (eceh, macamlaa ade org request xpun nak bace kan.. hihihi). I bought AA's Zero Fares tix last year. Total price of my return tix = MYR75 including 30kg luggage on the way back! Super duper cheap right? hehehe (okay, nmpk sgt saye tamak sampai beli maximum luggage kan.. haha :p) According to the initial plan, there were suppose to be 8 of us in this trip. But 3 of my BFF had last min changes in their plan. So, there were 5 pax left.

Day 1:

3 of us had morning flight while the other 2 had evening flight. Me, neesa and fiza took Skybus from KL Sentral to LCCT @ 7.30AM. Since we already did self-check in through AA's website,  we don't bother much about the time. Our flight was a little bit late since the air traffic was busy that morning. We arrived at Soekarno Hatta Airport before noon and waited at the airport till my sis and nida arrived (actually we can meet up at the mall or hotel later but we were not keen to left them at the airport and go shopping while waiting for them.  prior to that we planned to shop first at Tanah Abang then go back to the airport but that can be tedious since we heard the traffic at central Jakarta always congested. we do not dare to predict the traffic flows so we decided to wait)

Overall, we enjoyed our 5 days trip to the max! It was my first  all-girls oversea trip -- definitely gonna be the sweetest memory for me (sampaikan rasa nak je extend sampai next week nyer.. x puas shopping.. haha)

evening at Jakarta -- MONAS (Monumen Nasional)

Our lunch @ the airport -- Koufu Food Court

Upon arrival, we took chartered MPV at the airport and went to Gambir train station to buy our tickets to Bandung next morning. The driver was very kind and he even followed us wherever we go since he afraid that we might get lost. Thank you so much Pak Bambang! We'll definitely hire you again if we ever been in Jakarta. We checked in at Mangga 2 area but unfortunately Mangga 2 closed before 7PM. How i wish Mangga 2 and Tanah Abang open till midnight! We spent our first day strolling at Mangga 2 Square. Did some shopping (where i bought tonnes of DVD.. hehe) and get enough rest to continue our journey the next day.

Day 2:

Had our breakfast and then headed to Gambir (we took cabs.. but later found out that using chartered van aka Cipaganti is much cheaper). The executive coach was comfortable enough and the view along the way was breathtaking. The train passed through few villages and moved between hills.

nice scenery. one of the villages

can u tell the height of the railways? (gayat wesss)

the view -- before you reach Bandung. rasa macam tgh main farmville je :p

3 hours journey by train was really worth it! Alhamdulillah, the weather was great throughout our trip (till our last day). Anyway, we were greeted by Zafira Car driver at the Bandung station (i booked their MPV for 3 days. Did the booking a day prior to the trip without any deposit! Million thanks to Pak Tarmidzi -- Zafira's owner -- for his attentiveness and hospitality)

Our first destination was Pasar Baru (i'm not sure how many million rupiah we spent there.. definitely rambang mata!) I bought materials for my wedding dress there (for solemnization to be exact - since i'm done with reception attires). I even bought the materials for my family members and my girls! Bought few kebaya and kurung for my business too. Sangat2 puas hati! (kalau shopping kat KL brape ribu laa gamaknye habis kan.. huhu)

Definitely a shopping heaven -- esp for textile! Lace, chiffon, jacquard, silk, cotton.. u name it.. everything is under one roof

 Nice combination :)

you can find pre-made dress too. just bargain as much as you can

We had our late lunch at Pasar Baru food court. Enjoyed jus alpukat (must try!) and nasi timbel so much (around 5PM baru cari foods kot.. punyelaa semangat berkobar2 tuk shopping, sampai lupe nak makan. bile dah ketaq lutut baru terkial2 cari tempat makan. hahaha)

We continued our shopping spree at Pasar Baru till the end of its operation hours (haha.. how bad is that?) Then we headed to Toko Tiga (shopped for some Tees and for the guys) & Secret factory outlet at Riau.

That's me contemplating whether i should buy that black dress or not. I've picked black Zara dress before i reached that section. At the end, i bought 2 black dresses and black pants (mmg lady in black sungguh :p)

Again, at Secret we shopped till late hours. We only stopped when we felt hungry. hehehe. Then we headed to Riung Sari Restaurant for dinner. I ordered chicken satay.. just to taste the difference between Malaysian satay.. definitely was too tired to digest some rice.. that's why i ordered simple meal :p

Indonesian satay (to be precise -- Bandung satay)

So, there goes our first day of shopping spree. I think i spent 2/3 of my money on the first day. Continued with CC on the following days (yes! most of us tend to overspent here. so jage2laa ye.. hehe.. tobat... tobat)

Checked in at the hotel with tonnes of luggage!

First day at Bandung turned out to be really tiring but awesome! We shopped till we dropped. Memang kering segala fulus yang ada. hihihi. Will continue with Day 3-5 reviews on the next post okay!

Till then.

Phuket Trip 2010: Part 1

 August 3, 2010

ALERT: THIS POST IS LOADED WITH PICS AND DEFINITELY COMES WITH A LONG STORY FOR YOU TO READ! :p

ENJOICE!

The trip started with a little bit of chaos since we overslept. Our flight was at 7.25am but we woke up at 6 without proper packing on the night before (saye flat sbb kepenatan yg x tahu berpunca dari mana. Nak sambung packing lagi.. bersiap lagi.. then nak drive from KL to LCCT amik mase brp minit lak? giler kan). We rushed to the airport and luckily we managed to check in (i think we already late for 10-15 mins.. but thank God the AA officer still allow us to check in). Fuhh!! okay, enough of the running scene at the airport ;p

The view from my seat... we are reaching Phuket. Yuhuuuu :)

Anyway, we even took our breakfast onboard since i left the food stocks at home (see... i told you it was a chaos. total chaos! penat je borong mknn, last2 tinggal jugak. selamat x tertinggal passport and tickets.. kalau tak naya je). The best part of our flight? The view of the skies in early morning.... and the landing process! very smooth :)

Arrival..  The airport is at the seaside. Feeling excited already :p

They provide FREE simcard at the arrival hall. Do take one.. it will be very useful throughout your trip

Basically, our first day is about getting used to the transportation system in Phuket :)

Prior the departure, we decided to take the bus from the airport to town and then rent a car to move around (since i thought it is good to try something challenging.. tapi saye je kot yg suke cari jalan susah. hehehe). But since we arrived quite early, we had to change the plan. There are few choices besides taking bus. You can hop on a minivan (will be shared with few other passengers) or you can get personal car that will send you directly to your destination. Airport taxi might be a little bit pricey, unless you are very good at bargaining (seriously, i am not good at it... huhu). Well, at last we agreed to take a car from the airport since the driver offered us a charge of THB650 to go to Kata (i think the price is  quite reasonable since usual rate will be around THB800 -- what i've read from other bloggers). Our driver Chareef (pronounced as Syarif among typical Muslim in Malaysia) even offered to drive along Patong and Karon so that we can look around before we travel on our own. His car is a new Toyota Altis (definitely cannot give negative comment on the car's condition -- it's very comfy. I nearly fell asleep otw to Kata but since i am very excited, i decided to stay awake to enjoy the scene). Chareef is very reliable and punctual, he  also speaks good English. We even booked him to send us to the airport on our last day. He charged THB600 from Patong, whereby our hotel charged THB750 for the same trip. We know we can get cheaper rate around Patong, but it's not easy to look for one. Besides, we already felt comfortable with him.

We went to Kata area on the 1st day since we decided to cover Kata and Karon area first. We stayed at Hotel Ibis, opposite ClubMed (will give the review on the next post)

So, what do we do on our first day?

We went to see the most renown temple in Phuket -- Wat Chalong

The main building

Sacred gate? :)

Half part of this building is under renovation

We did some shopping at Wat Chalong since we heard that the price for souvenirs are much expensive at the beaches area. Try to bargain as much as u can (since i'm not good at at it.. i just pay at whatever price that i thought reasonable).

After our visit to Wat Chalong we went to Chalong Pier. Our initial plan was to have our lunch there but since we couldn't find any halal restaurant there, we went to hypermarket nearby and bought some bread, tuna and juices for lunch. We added some cereals and milk in our cart since the breakfast for the next day did not included in our room package (we bought the room without breakfast. it came out super cheap compared to the published rate! kudos to Agoda).

Chalong Pier -- where most of the tourist boat took off for trip to other islands

HomePro Village Phuket -- where we bought our food supply

After we finished our lunch, we headed to Karon View Point (i think it is situated in Kata district, but i don't know why the name refer to Karon)

Karon View Point -- where you can see 3 main beaches in Phuket (Patong, Karon and Kata)

Then we headed to Promthep Cape (famous as Sunset View Point). We stopped by Nai Harn beach before we continue our journey to the cape.

Nai Harn Beach -- a little bit secluded. Not many people here. The water is clear but the beach area is not so clean

Crystal clear water

Evening @ Nai Harn

Promthep Cape -- where we had our dinner while watching the sunset. Very overwhelming ;)

Sunset view

We got back to our hotel before 8 PM. We cleaned ourselves, got some rest then went out for another dinner (or should i say supper?). Well, there's nothing much you can do at night while in Kata. If you want to taste a happening nightlife you better stay in Patong :D

The symbol of Thailand = Elephant (its everywhere). I found these at Promthep Cafe. Cute isn't it? :)

So, there goes our first day. What happened next day? We strolled along Karon and Kata beach. The wind was strong and the wave is quite high. Most of the time we saw red or yellow flag is on. So we do not dare to swim. We just played around, soaked our feet and kept ourselves busy with the cameras :p

Get ready for some tanning ;)

Early morning @ Karon beach

Karon... it's a beautiful beach :)

Kata beach

So.. that's it for the first part. I will continue the next part with our days in Patong. Stay tune......

Till then :)
